About UniClip

Last updated

UniClip – Universal Clipboard, or UniClip for short, is made by Kunchok Tashi and KharagEdition, a small independent developer team. It is not made by or affiliated with Apple, Google, Microsoft or Samsung.

Who makes it

Kunchok Tashi (CodingWithTashi on GitHub and X) is the developer of UniClip and leads KharagEdition, a small team that has built free apps since 2020.

KharagEdition is best known for free, open-source apps for the Tibetan language: a keyboard, a dictionary, a prayer app, a calendar and more, over ten apps with more than 200,000 downloads.

Why UniClip exists

Copying something on one device and needing it on another is an everyday problem, and the built-in answers stop at the edge of one company’s devices: Apple’s Universal Clipboard only links Apple devices near each other, and Windows only syncs with some Android phones.

UniClip works between Android, iPhone, iPad and any computer’s browser, over the internet. It sends only what you choose to send and never reads your clipboard in the background.

How we write our guides

Every guide checks what it says about Apple, Google, Microsoft and Samsung against their own help pages and developer documentation, and lists those pages under Sources. Each guide shows the date it was last checked. When a platform changes, the guide changes with it.

We make UniClip, so we say so wherever we recommend it, and we name the free and built-in options that fit better when they do.
