What is UniClip?
UniClip – Universal Clipboard, or UniClip for short, is a cross-device clipboard app for sending text, links, photos and files between Android phones and tablets, iPhones, iPads and computers, over the internet. Copy on one device, tap the clip on another, and paste. With Pro it is also a clipboard manager that keeps your clipboard history. It is made by KharagEdition, not Apple.
Is UniClip free?
Yes, it is free to start. On the Free plan, clips of up to 200 characters go to all your devices and disappear after 1 minute, and the phone and tablet app shows a small ad. Pro costs $0.99 a week or $2.99 a month and adds clips of up to 100,000 characters that never expire, with no ads.
Does it work between Android and iPhone?
Yes. Copy on an Android phone and paste on an iPhone or iPad, or the other way round. Any mix of Android phones and tablets, iPhones, iPads and computers works, as long as they are on the same account.
Does it work on Windows, Mac or a Chromebook?
Yes, in the browser. Open the web app at uniclip.app/app on Windows, Mac, Linux or ChromeOS and scan its QR code with the app on your phone. The Chrome extension links the same way. There is no desktop app to install.
Does it sync my clipboard between my phone and my computer?
Yes, for what you choose to send. Send a clip from your phone and it appears on your computer, and the other way round, over the internet. It does not copy everything in the background: only the clips you send are synced, across Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac, Linux and ChromeOS.
Can I send photos and files?
Yes: photos and files of up to 1 MB each, one at a time, on Free, and up to 10 MB each (2 GB in all), 10 at a time, with Pro — from the paperclip, the share sheet or by pasting.
Does it keep a clipboard history?
Yes, on Pro. Every clip you send stays in one searchable list on all your devices until you delete it, with links, codes, phone numbers and emails in their own filters. Free clips disappear after 1 minute. It keeps only what you send, not everything you copy.
How is it different from Apple’s Universal Clipboard?
Apple’s Universal Clipboard only works between Apple devices on the same Apple Account, near each other, with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Handoff on, and it keeps what you copy only briefly. UniClip works over the internet between Android, iPhone, iPad and any computer, and Pro keeps a clipboard history.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Sign in with Google or Apple on your phone or tablet, and your clips stay private to that account. A computer links to it by scanning a QR code, so you never type a password in the browser.
Does it read my clipboard all the time?
No. It never reads your clipboard in the background. It only receives what you send on purpose.
Do my devices need to be near each other?
No. It works over the internet, so your tablet at home gets what you copied on the bus.
What do I get with Pro?
Clips of any length (up to 100,000 characters) that never expire, links, codes, phone numbers and emails sorted for you, new-clip alerts with Copy Now on your other devices, the Premium light and dark theme, and no ads. It covers every device on your account.
Does it drain the battery?
No. Nothing polls in the background. Pro only receives a notification. On Android and in the Chrome extension it can also copy the clip for you, if you turn that on.
What if I lose my phone?
Sign in on another phone or tablet, delete any clips you want gone, and remove computers you no longer use under Settings, Linked devices. Free clips disappear after 1 minute anyway.
Is it end-to-end encrypted?
No. Clips are encrypted in transit and at rest on Google Cloud, but not end-to-end. Do not send passwords or card numbers.
Does it work offline?
Sending needs a connection. Clips already loaded on a device stay readable.
Is UniClip the same as Universal Clipboard?
Yes, when it is the app by KharagEdition at uniclip.app. Its full name is UniClip – Universal Clipboard: UniClip is the short name, and some store listings and the app’s own menus say just Universal Clipboard. Apple’s Universal Clipboard is something else, a feature built into Apple devices. Other apps have similar names too, so check that the developer is KharagEdition, or Kunchok Tashi on the App Store.
